Congressman Mark Alford Manages MAGA Vs. Gun Rights Debate

For Kansas City metro conservatives, despite so much culture war fodder, one of the most important debates to consider is a fight betwixt Second Amendment activists and supporters of federal agents after the latest deadly shooting in Minneapolis.

The real question taken to task by social media critics in KC and across the nation . . .

IS MAGA SELLING OUT THE SECOND AMENDMENT?!?

Today . . .

We notice Congressman Alford is the first local elected official to broach the sordid topic of gun rights & protest that seems to be a big deal to many Republican voters even if our progressive leaning local media don't want to tackle the topic . . .

Accordingly . . . Here's a few hints he's putting on blast . . .

Congressman Alford recently re-posted this message from the Heritage Foundation with an "Exactly!!!" endorsement . . .

"If you obstruct law enforcement, lay hands on an officer, or resist arrest while carrying a firearm, you endanger the lives of law enforcement personnel and increase the likelihood of being met with lethal force."

And then . . .

Congressman Mark Alford added, "I concur completely" to this Fox News social media report quote:

BORDER PATROL COMMANDER GREG BOVINO: "When someone makes the choice to come into an active law enforcement scene, interfere, obstruct, delay, or assault law enforcement officers — and they bring a weapon to do that — that is a choice that individual made."

And here's the counterpoint and pro-gun criticism . . .

The Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus quickly responded to the shooting, calling it "deeply concerning."

"According to local officials, the man was legally armed, a firearm was recovered at the scene, and he is believed to have been a lawful gun owner and permit to carry holder," the organization wrote in a statement . . ."Every peaceable Minnesotan has the right to keep and bear arms—including while attending protests, acting as observers, or exercising their First Amendment rights. These rights do not disappear when someone is lawfully armed, and they must be respected and protected at all times."

And so the question remains . . .

HOW IS MAGA HANDLING CRITICISM FROM SOME GUN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS FOLLOWING THE LATEST SHOOTING BY A FEDERAL AGENT?!?

We'll share more context via news links and look forward to any reply . . .
