Flight records say the four-seat plane — a 2008 Cirrus Design Corp SR-22 — departed Memphis, Tennessee, and was enroute to Olathe, Kansas. Those records also show the plane is registered to a South Carolina company.

Plane bound for KC Metro crashes on southwest Missouri highway
An airplane crashed in the northbound lanes of U.S. 65 past Valley Water Mill Road in Greene County this afternoon Saturday, Dec. 20, just north of Springfield.
