Outrage Hits Crescendo Amid Kansas City Christmas Crackdown

CONSERVATIVE OUTRAGE RISES AGAINST KANSAS CITY AMID CRACKDOWN ON CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!!! 

We blogged this previously but now here's the update . . . 

RIGHT-WING TAKERS RANT AGAINST KWANZAA CELEBRATION ALLOWED WHILST CHRISTIAN SYMBOLS ARE FORBIDDEN!!!  

Of course TKC doesn't defend the policy . . . BUT . . . As blog readers often point out . . . Kwanzaa isn't really a religious celebration, it's inherently political and community orientated. Moreover, Kwanzaa in KC is kinda fun and we've enjoyed the holiday season drums bringing rhythm and vibrancy to the cold weather season rather than just listening to Bing Crosby croon like some old drunk who once threw his kid through a plate glass window  . . . Our suspicion is that so many who decry Kwanzaa haven't ever been to a local celebration.

However . . .  

On second thought we kinda that think that during this broke-ass recession holiday season, it's important to have mercy on so many people who don't want to "celebrate" at work and would rather go back home and play video games rather than be forced to endure workplace small talk.

Meanwhile . . . 

Of course, we share a more spirited reaction from our conservative friends . . .  

National backlash has followed the Kansas City manager’s decision to ban Christmas symbols from City Hall . . . Among others, national radio host Todd Starnes blasted the announcement.

“The Baby Jesus is no longer welcome inside City Hall in Kansas City,” Starnes, former Fox News personality and now host of The Todd Starnes Show, posted on Facebook.

“So, it’s okay for staffers to celebrate a make-believe holiday like Kwanzaa, but not the birthday of Jesus?”

Starnes quoted Councilman Nathan Willett as being “disgusted and discouraged” by it.
