Over the past few years firefighters and paramedics in Kansas City have confronted increased attacks that have proven fatal . . . Here's a sign of the times and work to address the tragic situations:
In response to a recent increase in violence toward first responders, the Kansas City Fire Department is sending all of its members through a workplace violence de-escalation training program called VEST First Responder.
VEST stands for Violent Encounter Survival Training. It’s designed for EMS, fire, and healthcare workers.
VEST equips first responders and healthcare workers with skills to de-escalate, defend, and document violent encounters in the workplace safely.
