Kansas City Mayor Q Mistaken On East Side Royals Stadium?!?

Here's our TKC bias but given only with an open mind and in hopes of smarter feedback . . .

At this crossroads in local history, we need someone to offer a vision of Kansas City AFTER pro-sports. Clinging to the Royals now seems desperate, costly and without the courage to realize that our community can thrive without losing money for the sake of corporate branding.

More importantly, the 18th & Vine District Royals Stadium idea is DUMB and has no confidence outside of urban political circles.

In fairness . . .

Here's a peek at the mayor's pitch that was politely ignored over Christmas . . .

"Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas discussed another stadium site at 18th and Troost, located just west of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) headquarters. If the team was willing to stay in the city in 2031, one unclear thing is whether the Royals would agree to a vote of the people, whether that be the voters of KCMO or the voters of Jackson County."
