A progress report on local efforts . . .
The verbiage is nice for people who are looking for conversation starters at a bar or some other social function but . . . Again . . . The reality is that MOST BLACK PEOPLE IN KANSAS CITY have absolutely no faith or interest in reparations because it's so obviously a sketchy deal aimed mostly at payback for the politically connected.
Of course we share a more thoughtful perspective . . .
"Given that the history of slavery in the U.S. goes back more than 500 years, how long will it take for efforts such as those by the Mayor’s Reparations Commission to make structural changes that will repair what and who has been broken by that system and its many follow-ups?"
Sorry for the spoiler in the post headline . . . But the answer was the expected yet still scary:
