Gwen Grant, president and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City, announced that local civil rights organizations are joining forces with the National Urban League to file an amicus brief in support of the lawsuit filed against the CID.
The lawsuit claims that Black business owners have been discriminated against and ousted from the Westport Entertainment District. An amicus brief will be filed in support of the lawsuit.

Local civil rights leaders and advocates gathered in Westport on Monday to show their support for a $70 million lawsuit against the Westport Community Improvement District, alleging racial discrimination against business owners. The Westport Community Improvement District says it strongly refutes the claims.
