Jackson County Divorcing Kansas City: Will It Work?!?

It's PROBABLY pre-file garbage intended to garner headlines but not much legislative attention. 

But, stranger things have happened.  

Here's another peek at one more Jeff City distraction away from garbage roads, failing schools and subpar healthcare throughout Missouri . . .

A newly filed bill could let voters decide whether Kansas City should break away from Jackson County, marking a dramatic reshaping of local government that some call long overdue, and others warn would create even deeper divisions.

State Rep. Mike Steinmeyer, who represents District 20, is sponsoring House Resolution 107.

The measure calls for a “constitutional amendment authorizing the separation of Kansas City from Jackson County upon approval by the voters.”
