TKC reality check . . .
This stat game doesn't match up to the lived experience of ANYONE in Kansas City but it's mostly unquestioned by progressive media hoping to propagate a misleading and dangerous narrative.
There's a lot wrong with this perspective . . . But . . . After deadly youth violence claimed the lives of two beloved locals last year by way of fatal shootings of a popular Tejano DJ and a beloved Irish Chef . . . This year's "improvement" seems insignificant.
Still . . . Here's the word:
"As of October 31, this year has seen 832 youth delinquency referrals to family court, compared to nearly 1,200 cases by September 2024. The chief juvenile officer for the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County also said that 92% of youth referred to the juvenile system do not reoffend."

Kansas City's mayor and chief of police are calling for a review of the juvenile justice system. But court officials in Jackson County say youth referrals are down so far this year, proving that the diversion programs are working.
