Chiefs Kingdom Crumbles: Mahomes ACL Tear Threatens Kansas City

The dark days of December have finally set in  . . . These really are the worst of times for this cowtown.

Around the globe haters terrorize the world, school shootings continue to threaten American students and tragedy has even befallen a Hollywood family . . .

Meanwhile . . .

KANSAS CITY CONFRONTS LIFE AFTER THE COLLAPSE OF THE CHIEFS KINGDOM!!!

It happened faster than anyone could've imagined . . .

But, the Chiefs confirming an ACL tear for Super Bowl baller Patrick Mahomes cancels this season, Christmas and any hope of a quick return to top level football.

This is a bigger deal beyond the gridiron . . .

The idea of Kansas City "progress" has mostly advanced by way of a Mahomes-based hype machine and it'll be impossible to sell so many good vibes without the help of a proven winner.

The reality is that not many locals care about the World Cup and the Mahomes-era delivered more quantifiable joy to locals than any other pro-athlete since the glory days of Len Dawson.

As always, we look to our blog community for answers to these questions that now face our town . . .

Take a peek . . . We'll share our hot take but we think readers might come up with better replies:

Who should be blame???

Right now, Coach Reid is front and center as the focus of scorn for leading the team to a no-win December showdown that simply put too much weight on Mahomes . . .

Does the Chiefs Kingdom collapse ruin Kansas stadium schemes?!?!?

The idea was already starting to cool and going into election season . . . Most of the GOP candidates aren't willing to take on even more baggage by way of BILLIONS worth of public money used on money-losing stadiums. Sorry, but maybe another decade of Mahomes was a big selling point for Kansas taking on so much debt.

Will Mahomes ever return to top form after this horrific injury???

We'd like to see him return to top form but his days as one of the leading rushers for the Chiefs are OVER

If he continues at the top level of the NFL . . . It will have to be as a passer first.

Of course we'll get disagreements about this from dopes who have a mom or dad who endured an ACL tear and enjoyed a perfect recovery but old folks aren't going up against 250lb linebackers who can run faster than most economy cars.

Like it or not, this kind of injury typically ends careers in the NFL.

These are just the start of the questions as we go into another rebuilding year.

Again, we challenge www.TonysKansasCity.com to share their own quandaries.

Developing . . .
