"Kansas City will deploy neighborhood outreach teams to five communities with the highest violence rates as part of a new $2 million violence prevention initiative.
"The city passed the initiative on Tuesday to place teams in Ruskin Heights, Independence Plaza, North Town Fork Creek, Marlborough Heights and Ivanhoe. The Violence Prevention Fund is paying for the program."
