The persistent problem of homelessness is being addressed by Unified Government commissioners. A plan called the “Unsafe Camping” ordinance is designed to set guidelines for Wyandotte County law enforcement on how to deal with homeless camps. The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department's homeless program currently gives people notice to leave public spaces not designed for living.
