Suspect Captured In Sewer After Gunfight With Kansas City Police

"The pursuit continued southbound on I-35 to Northeast Chouteau Trafficway, where the suspect exited and traveled on multiple city streets, per MSHP. The suspect driving then traveled onto southbound I-29, continuing south to I-70 in Jackson County.

"Additional shots were fired at officers with the Kansas City Police Department near 17th Street and Jackson Avenue, according to MSHP. The pursuit continued to the area of Cleveland Avenue and 41st Street in Kansas City, where the car stopped.

"While stopped, four people got out of the vehicle and ran from troopers and officers. Three of them were arrested. At 4 a.m., the fourth suspect was found in a sewer drain and was arrested."
