Show-Me Weed Crackdown Underway

A peek at Missouri attempting to clean up the weed game and so many local operations that "interpret" the rules of cash crop boom a bit differently.

In a release, Attorney General Catherine Hanaway said the businesses included in her office’s initial investigation are “known to sell chemically altered or synthetic THC-like compounds.” These compounds include Delta-8, Delta-10 or THC-P, and can have effects “far stronger or less predictable” than Delta-9, which is derived naturally from cannabis plants.

Missouri AG investigating smoke shops suspected of selling 'deceptive' THC-like products

"We will not allow Missouri consumers to be treated as test subjects for unregulated chemical experiments," AG Hanaway said in a statement.

Missouri investigates unregulated hemp shops, including one in Kansas City

"It feels like we're being targeted because we've been vocal about fighting for that cause," the shops' owner said of his calls for regulation.
