Rep. Nancy Pelosi Opts Out Of Re-election: Congressman Cleaver Next?!?

Here's the thing . . .

We don't have to agree with the politics of Rep. Pelosi to admire her achievement, longevity and public service.

However . . .

Other than billionaire oligarchs who have to purchase pricey compliance in all things . . . Is there any other industry anywhere in the world where a person can play at the top level into their 80s???

TKC aside . . . My Dad has told me that we have a cousin in Texas who made ends meet into his 90s by replacing car windshields at a price cheaper than the competition . . . So there's room to disagree here . . .

But I digress . . .

The point is . . .

Rep. Pelosi calls it quits at 85-years-old.

Congressman Cleaver is now 81 and still able to garner citywide support and protest from mostly progressive senior citizen white people, local Black clergy and midtown baristas so that he can keep his jorb.

So, at the very, least he can probably serve two more terms . . .

But, our #TBT moment of doubt question is: Should he???

The reality is that if Missouri redistricting is blocked by activist petitioners . . .  Which might be a good bet . . . The congressman will likely earn reelection with little difficulty.

Here's more context regarding the congress lady . . .

In a video message on Thursday, Pelosi said she will not be seeking re-election to Congress at the end of her term in January 2027.

It marks the end of a storied political career: Pelosi, 85, became the first woman to serve as Speaker of the House and led her party in the lower chamber of Congress from 2003 until 2023.

"We have made history, we have made progress," Pelosi said in her message.
