A political preview and a bit of turnabout . . .
Those of us who know Jackson County politics are familiar with Mr. Haralson's "rising star" advocacy and his flamboyantly progressive worldview.
However, this time around Mr. Haralson is abandoning his previous support of Legislator Manny Abarca in order to pose a challenge . . . Even more interestingly, a few notable KCMO white ladies seem to have his back.
We'll watch this one going forward but we feel like we've already seem this movie inasmuch as Hyde Park overestimates their importance in grand scheme of local politics.
More importantly . . .
So, who is Branden Haralson . . .
"He serves on the boards of Midwest Innocence Project, Ad Hoc Group Against Crime, and Missouri Citizens for the Arts—each reflecting his belief in equity, opportunity, and community building. His civic engagement also includes co-founding Heartland Alliance for Progress, teaching as an adjunct professor at UMKC Conservatory, and serving as a commissioner on Kansas City, Missouri’s Municipal Art Commission. When he’s not working or volunteering, he can be found in his LEGO studio with his cat Hänsel and dog Gretel close by."

Haralson for Jackson County Legislature
Jackson County residents deserve leadership that listens, responds, and works for the people . . . . For Branden, the work begins with tackling the property tax assessment process, an issue that has frustrated families and homeowners across our community.
