Republican holdouts sank this effort for a lot of reasons up to and including threats that it would cost the their jorbs.
Don't worry . . . This issue will probably come up again if only to give the progressive middle-class white ladies of the Golden Ghetto a reason to (mistakenly) feel persecuted.

"The announcement by Kansas House Speaker Dan Hawkins ends a weekslong push by GOP lawmakers to circumvent Democratic Gov. Laura Kelly and call themselves into a special session on redistricting, which would have convened later this week."
