The Kansas City Police Department has announced that crime in the city is "significantly down" in several categories in 2025 compared to this time last year.

The police department provided the following statistics as of Wednesday:

- Burglaries are down 17 percent
- Property damage is down 36 percent
- Stealing is down 20 percent
- Stolen vehicles are down 33 percent
- Robberies are down 23 percent
- Homicides are down four percent
- Non-fatal shootings are down 32 percent
