Kansas City Pays Former City Manager Brian Platt HALF A MILLION BUCKS

The rocky tenure of former Kansas City manager Brian Platt has finally ended for good with a contract settlement of $192,000.

"The Parties mutually desire to avoid the time and expense of litigation," the document said. The settlement, which was finalized at the end of September, provides Platt with a "Neutral Job Reference" as he searches for work. 

The newspaper just reports double . . . 

"Kansas City quietly agreed to pay former City Manager Brian Platt at least $500,000 as part of two confidential agreements signed in the wake of his tumultuous exit as the city’s top executive. The two documents mark the first public disclosure of the full payouts, which were approved in September. The revelation comes as city officials have repeatedly refused to answer questions about the agreements, how they were approved and their cost. "

One agreement pays Platt $192,000, and the second, $308,000. The Kansas City Council fired Platt in March after losing a whistleblower lawsuit that cost the city almost a million dollars.
