Many working musicians and music industry workers are full-time contractors supporting themselves through gigs, licensing, side hustles – often meaning they are underinsured without substantial savings to fall back on. MMF bridges that gap when basic health needs and crises arise. Bacon volunteered for MMF before becoming a board member and in the past has received grants from them. “I’m so grateful that there are organizations like MMF that have my back and support the growth of the Kansas City music community.”
