Kansas City 911 No Longer Joke?!?

Forgive the dated Public Enemy reference . . . Here's a more optimistic news:

"The Kansas City Police Department has filled all funded 911 call-taker positions for the first time since 2020, leading to faster emergency response times across the city.

"The staffing milestone was announced at Tuesday’s Board of Police Commissioners meeting, where officials reported they have boosted call-taker training success rates from 6% to 75-80%."

Kansas City 911 response times improve with full staffing

Mayor Quinton Lucas became personally invested in 2023 when his mother passed out and his sister waited on 911 hold for five minutes.
