Kander Pleads For 'Calm & Compassion' Amid Crackdown On Afghans

Only the most lock-in Kansas City news watchers might remember about 11 months ago when former KC Mayoral candidate Jason Kander enjoyed the national media spotlight for organizing a "rescue mission" for Afghans who had helped the U.S. military.

The pinnacle of the MSM adulation might have been an exceptionally salutary report from 60 Minutes

It was an important moment that revealed Kansas City's foremost Democratic Party leader STILL holds the power to move the discourse on the national & international front.

Now . . .

Following a tragic & fatal shooting in the nation's capital and ensuing immigration crackdown by the White House . . . The legacy of that mission  might be conflicted by political and partisan bickering.

Local news might be working on follow-up but we wanted to put the deets out there first so that we can more accurately gauge spin from both directions.

First . . . Here's the latest social media statement shared by Jason Kander wherein he offer prayers & concern for soldiers along with a plea for friendly Afghans . . . Check-it:

"Praying for the two soldiers attacked in DC and for calm and compassion toward the tens of thousands of Afghan refugees making this country better each day.

"Let us not react in a way that causes them to live in fear."
