In order to secure "perfect" results into an election that was kind of a blowout . . . Here's the aftermath that might not change much:
"Today, after receiving a timely request, the Johnson County Board of Canvassers met at 8:30 a.m. and voted to move forward with a recount on the Prairie Village election question to abandon the city’s form of government.
"The Election Office received a timely payment of a bond in accordance with Kansas law to cover the costs of the recount on Saturday morning. If the election result for the race is overturned after the recount, the bond payment would be returned to the requestor.
"The recount will be conducted by hand by a team of bipartisan election workers.
"The original election results included 9,010 votes cast, with “No” receiving 5,842 votes and “Yes” receiving 3,168 votes.
"The Board of Canvassers will meet again at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Johnson County Election Office, 2101 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, to hear and certify the results of the recount."
