Alford believes the political rhetoric needs to be turned down and the American people need to be galvanized back toward a more unifying spirit.

“When President Trump talks about Making America Great Again, I know a lot of people, that kind of curls their toes,” Alford said.

“What we’re talking what I’m talking about is, let’s make our country the best that we can be, so that we can be that beacon of light, of hope, of democracy for other countries to look up to. We have lost our hope in America, and we’ve got to bring that back.”
