Worker Lawsuit Alleges Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar Racism

This one is weird for TKC . . .

There's so much to criticize about the streetcar but alleged racism is pretty far down the list.

However . . .

According to this complaint . . . The workplace SEEMS just as bad as one of those movies depicting the American Civil Rights struggle against the most one-dimensional villains . . . Eventually, the bad guys find other jobs wherein they hate nerds, torture an innocent maid or hassle slovenly fraternities later in their careers.

Either way . . . Here's a glimpse at talking points that will invariably provide one more reason to resent this faux-transit effort . . . Check-it:  

Six Black and Hispanic workers on the Kansas City Streetcar extension project have filed a lawsuit against their employers, alleging they faced racial slurs and threatening behavior on job sites, including incidents in which other workers allegedly made menacing comments about nooses and referred to Black people as “monkeys.” 

The lawsuit alleges workers of color faced a “culture of race-based hostility and discrimination” on job sites, where attorneys said there were “monthly and sometimes weekly and daily” instances of racial epithets and derogatory statements made by white employees.
