Parents in the Blue Valley School District are demanding action after the controversial firing of beloved elementary teacher Barbara Hart, who was terminated for picking up a special needs student.
Hart was let go after she made the decision to physically assist a student who was having difficulty regulating his behavior in a hallway outside her classroom.
According to a letter Hart wrote to the PTO, the student was not responding to direction, prompting her to pick him up and take him to a safe place inside her classroom to help him calm down.
