This could be the greatest Throwback Thursday in Kansas City history.
To wit . . .
FORMER KANSAS CITY MAYOR KAY WILL REPORTEDLY SERVE AS THE NEW TEMP EXEC FOR JACKSON COUNTY!!!
Credit where it's due . . .
Wikipedia documents her age at 87 and even a month of work is A LOT for her to accomplish.
Her appointment seems to be intended to push back against "lady criticism" confronting the courthouse but we're not certain how many voters still remember the groundbreaking Kansas City leader and this cowtown's first lady mayor.
We don't wanna call this move cynical . . . If former Mayor Kay is up to it . . . Good for her.
Still . . .
We don't expect this old school alliance will quiet critics for long.
In the meantime TKC readers are invited to celebrate a trip down memory lane . . . Check-it:
"Barnes will step in once the results of Tuesday’s recall election removing Executive Frank White are certified, which could happen as early as next week."
