According to the City of Liberty, Captain Raymond McElwee passed on Wednesday, Oct. 22, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer for the majority of the year.
His death was deemed a "line of duty death" because the city said his diagnosis was likely a result of his 26-year career in the firefighting field.
