KK Proclaims 'No Kings' FAIL: 'They Had No Effect'

As always . . . We'll take the counterpoint BUT the whole reason for sharing this post is because we think KK's perspective is worthy of consideration . . .

However . . .

People always question the value of protest and so here's a quick reason why demonstrations are important:

Mobilization: People turning out to support a cause offers a glimpse at the ability to motivate voters into action. Basically organizers want it to be a practice run for election day . . . Realistically, protest rallies don't always translate to votes BUT do serve as good practice for campaigners.

Petition gathering & donations: We noticed teachers garnering signatures for their ballot issues and so many others working the crowd to garner support from like-minded voters.

Pub: For many, the current digital epoch is nothing more or less than an "attention economy." We can disagree about motives but there's no denying that thousands of people on local streets in protest commands attention.

Something to consider . . .

BOTH SIDES DO IT!!!

From the Tea Party to the Trump motorcade . . . Conservatives have also taken over local streets and so criticism often has more to do with partisan posturing rather the merits of street level activism.

Nevertheless . . .

We appreciate KK's perspective and, as always, think his words are worthy of interest . . .

"No Kings had no effect and they had no answers . . . 75-year-old white people are showing up at these rallies. They were hippies in the 60s and they just love doing this because it reminds them of their teenage years. They're going to a rally. An anti-government, anti-Republican rally. These are the hippies that survived."
