Kevin King Files to Run for Mayor of Independence

Kevin King officially filed today to run for Mayor of Independence, pledging to bring honesty, accountability, and common-sense leadership back to City Hall.

“I love this city and the people who make it work,” King said. “It’s time for leadership that listens, tells the truth, and makes decisions with the community, not behind closed doors.”

King said his campaign will focus on restoring trust in city government and strengthening neighborhoods across Independence. “Folks are ready for a City Hall that works for them again,” he said. “We can clean things up, get back to basics, and move this city forward together.”

A lifelong Independence resident and former Business Manager for Roofers Union Local 20, King has spent his career standing up for working families and serving his community as a coach, scout leader, husband, and grandfather.
