Kansas Supreme Court Decides: Driver's License Gender Switcheroo Redux

The ACLU of Kansas announced on Thursday, Oct. 2, that the Kansas Supreme Court denied a request from Attorney General Kris Kobach that would prevent transgender Kansans from changing their gender markers.

“We know that accurate gender markers are a matter of safety and well-being for transgender Kansans,” said JulieMurray, Co-Director of the ACLU’s State Supreme Court Initiative. “The Kansas Supreme Court’s decision this week will finally bring an end to nearly two years of government intrusion on trans Kansans’ privacy and put a stop to the Attorney General’s efforts to forcibly out people in their daily lives.”

High Court allows for gender markers to once again be changed on Kansas licenses
