Kansas City's Greatest Duo Drops New Music

Our musical selections mostly encounter hateration and that's probably the "fun" of this blog.

However . . .

Allow us an endorsement and ignore the trolls for just a sec . . .

This band is probably the most groundbreaking group we've seen perform locally in more than a decade and their diehard cadre of fans make every performance a must-see event . . . There are lots of great bands in Kansas City right now . . . BUT, right now, Katy Guillen & The Drive is one of the best. 

TKC challenge . . . The only hater comments that we'll take seriously will offer a suggestion of ANOTHER worthwhile band as a challenge to our pick . . .

"Kansas City’s Katy Guillen has been a staple of the blues and rock scene for well over a decade now, going all the way back to work with drummer Go-Go Ray in the early ’00s before starting Katy Guillen & the Girls, whose blues-informed rock ‘n’ roll delighted audiences until they played their farewell shows in December 2018.

"Since then, singer/guitarist Guillen and drummer Stephanie Williams (who is also Guillen’s partner) have been making music as Katy Guillen & the Drive, and leaning more toward the indie rock end of the musical spectrum."
