
She is often described as a "syndicated columnist" but we rarely see her work . . . In fact, this is the first column we've noticed a regional news outlets pick up and it pretty much follows the same talking points that MSNBC distributed last week regarding reckless texting . . . Take a look . . .
"The cases ought to also be understood from the lens of free speech. Social media platforms are private companies and can devise their own rules for limits on speech.
"The Republican Party, depending on how it is affiliated with the younger group, likely also has authority to act. Elected officials are appropriately denouncing the racist language.
"Generally, this type of offensive behavior doesn’t deserve an avalanche of commentary.
"There’s often not much more to be said, after an outrage is stated, and the behavior is denounced. But context also matters.
"And we’re a nation increasingly walking on eggshells, careful not to upset some government official who might decide that we’ve crossed an imagined line and now must pay a price.
"The Young Republicans incident comes right after serious questions about the First Amendment continue to be raised in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination."
