Kansas City Playlist: Autumn 2025 Arrives

Gotta make this quick but we'd be remiss if we didn't share a TKC playlist tradition . . .

Most years on this blog we mark the arrival of the pumpkin spice season with this philosophical quote that's one of our faves and gets more meaningful every year . .

"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."  Albert Camus

Just a reminder that life is often filled with second chances, new opportunity or maybe just a lot of pretty colors to witness.

Accordingly, we share our traditional www.TonysKansasCity.com Autumn playlist for 2025 . . .

Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground might be the swan song of Gen-X giving way to millennials who where then quickly replaced by Gen-Z . . . The post-punk-rock-blues track still holds up:

Brit Blues Rock has always dominated American airwaves . . . Here's one of better tributes to the changing of seasons by Led Zeppelin that starts with this line: “The leaves are falling all around, time I was on my way/Thanks to you, I'm much obliged for such a pleasant stay/But now it's time for me to go, the autumn moon lights my way.”

An Aerosmith low-key track to conclude the classic rock portion of this playlist . . .

This video of "October Song" offers a glimpse at Amy Winehouse before addiction hit her full blast . . .

Finally, we conclude with an iconic tune from the great American songbook that most old-heads have memorized . . . This old school version of Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope is just about as nostalgic as we get on this bloggy dump.

As always, thanks for reading and have a safe & fun Saturday night . . .
