Kansas City Mayor Q Celebrates Chappell Roan Concert Triumph

The aftermath . . .

By all accounts the Kansas City weekend of omnipresent pop diva hype was an unbridled success.

It was weird how some of our right-wing friends were expecting disaster and seemed to think the world is too dangerous for LGBT booty shaking . . . Thankfully, the concerts were successful and great local publicity despite the potential for logistical challenges.

Accordingly . . .

MAYOR Q SHARES AN "INCLUSIVE" CULTURE WAR SHOUT OUT TOUTING KANSAS CITY ACCEPTANCE & JOY!!!

TKC hint: That whole "joy" thing is the latest progressive trap intended to inspire outrage when it's only worth a bit of an eye-roll.

Nevertheless . . . In fairness . . . Here's the word from Mayor Q . . .

"I also thank Chappell Roan. Like many of us, she's from Missouri.  Over two nights, she reminded us what a difference we can make here at home for others looking to find a safe place and community in life.  I was heartened to hear that her early journey saw her come to Kansas City at a time she needed to feel welcome and safe in a world that too often is inhospitable to those who are different.

"She reminded us of why we will continue to work hard to ensure each day that Kansas City forever remains a hub of acceptance, of love, of joy for all of our friends and neighbors throughout Middle America.  You belong here and we were delighted to see so many of you sparkle with pride and joy this weekend."

Mayor Q On FB: "I didn't know much of Chappell Roan's music before this weekend, which saw tens of thousands of people from around the country converge on downtown to witness one of this generation's best singing voices in a crowd of people who were supportive, welcoming, and filled with joy. "
