Neta Meltzer, executive director of the Jewish Community Bureau/AJC Kansas City, said hearing from her family in Israel provides comfort during these difficult times.
“They live with the sirens at night and the unpredictability of all of the different fronts of this war,” Meltzer said.
The ongoing conflict has created ripple effects in Kansas City’s Jewish community, with Meltzer reporting a notable increase in local incidents. “We’ve gotten more reports than we have in years past,” she said. “We hear about incidents in schools among peers, we hear incidents of vandalism.”
