Kansas City Activists Protest Against Temporary Jail

An inordinate level of local crime has quietly served to negate the influence of "anti-incarceration" activists.

However . . .

Just because it's hard to argue for keeping more criminals on local streets doesn't mean that activists can't still flex on politicos . . . Here's the latest example . . . Check-it:  

 Kansas City residents filled a city Public Safety Committee meeting Tuesday, urging officials to reject plans for a temporary jail on a city-owned tow lot on Front Street.

“I’m so serious. This is no game. Please check your heart before you make these decisions and may God help you,” one resident told city leaders during public comment.

Kansas City hopeful temporary jail opens before World Cup

The modular or temporary jail would go up in Kansas City's tow lot off of Front Street, east of I-435. It'd cost more than $20 million and have about 100 beds.
