About the latest meeting this week . . .
Wednesday night some of those candidates joined Jackson County Legislators Sean Smith and Megan Smith at a public listening session at Lee's Summit's Missouri Innovation Campus.
Thursday at 10 a.m. county legislators will have the same discussion among themselves that will chart the course for selecting the interim county executive.
They laid out the qualities they want in the next person for the job.
"We had integrity, we had honesty, we had independent thinker," Rodrick Sparks said listing off his table's answers.
Accordingly . . .
Credit for everyone at the meeting for listening to that line and NOT erupting in laughter and then skipping along all the way home.
