Jackson County Interim Exec Kay Barnes Considers Her Legacy

It's hard not to be impressed by this old-school leader who remains productive and, like it or not, at the forefront of local politics . . . Check-it: 

Sworn in last week as the “temporary” Jackson County executive, the former Jackson County legislator and mayor finds herself back at the courthouse.

In her first one-on-one interview since being sworn in, Barnes shares what she hopes her role is, and reflects on her legacy as mayor. Part of that legacy is a revived downtown Kansas City. One memory, the unwitting role a St. Louis based Enterprise Car Rental played in part of downtown’s arrival, T-Mobile Center.
