Jackson County Approves Commercial Property Tax Relief

Don't be a hater, this is the first UNIFIED step in the right direction that we've seen for nearly a decade.

"Tax relief will be coming to many Jackson County commercial property owners. On Monday afternoon, the Jackson County Legislature approved a resolution 8-0 for that purpose. The resolution encourages new interim Jackson County Executive Phil LeVota to use his authority to correct, if necessary, any commercial property assessment increases of more than 15 percent. LeVota, who spoke at the beginning of the legislature’s meeting, said he’ll cap increases at 15 percent. Tax bills are due to go out Nov. 15."
