Craft Brewery Depression Hits Kansas City Amid Another Shutdown

Local biz confronts a trend that's bigger than fickle cowtown fads . . . Here's the big picture:

In 2024, the number of craft breweries that closed was bigger than the number of those that opened.

There are so many people to blame for this trend . . .

Some blame impending MAGA tariffs. But that's silly since pricey beer has always been immune to trade war posturing that's been much worse.

Consider that fancy beer might be nothing more than a hipster Gen X & immature Boomer luxury that's now out of style.

Craft beer just isn't "a thing" for Gen Z.

And so . . .

Here's the last call for yet another beloved local brewery . . .

"This decision was not easy, but it was not for nothing. Life is short, and material things come and go. What lasts are the memories, the laughter, and the connections we’ve shared. The experience of walking this journey with you is something we will always carry in our hearts. For that, we are deeply, eternally grateful."
