MAGA Missouri Redistricting Betrays Congressman Mark Alford?!?

Here's something that neither our GOP nor progressive friends are willing to say on record but it seems to be playing out slowly and is tacitly acknowledged by many insiders.

MAGA MISSOURI REDISTRICTING HURTS CONGRESSMAN MARK ALFORD MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE!!!

Moreover . . .

THERE'S ACTUALLY AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY FOR DEMOCRATIC PARTY TO ADVANCE BY WAY OF THE WHITE HOUSE MAP!!! 

 First . . . Let's explain a bit about some misconceptions . . . 

The idea that voters & counties belong to one party or another is dumb, authoritarian and mostly ignores history. 

Missouri wasn't always a red state and before it served a political bellwether for about 20 years at the end of the 20th century . . . The Show-Me State was a Democratic Party stalwart for most of the post-war era.

But the past is prologue . . . 

About Congressman Alford . . . As a freshman Rep. he's doesn't have a lot of Beltway influence, he's getting hosed by the White House & he doesn't have the contacts in Jeff City to stop redistricting or a map that actually helps to distribute Democratic strongholds and connect them to a growing progressive community in and around Columbia, Missouri. 

Let's be clear . . . 

TKC likes Rep. Alford and we think he's doing great by conducting so many town halls. 

But . . .

Is it so tough to imagine that the Democratic Party could be inspired to spend a lot of cash & run a credible candidate against Rep. Alford??? 

Please forgive us for daring to second guess MAGA "4D Chess" but this is the same guy who is trying to silence OUTRAGE from his base over potentially importing an army of Chinese students into the US. 

And then . . . 

We dive a bit deepr . . .  

The extension of the 5th outside of KC Proper seems like doomsday for the Dems but let's consider:

- Missouri overwhelmingly approved recreational marijuana by petition and vote.

- Missouri voters approved abortion by a solid margin.

- Missouri voters endorsed worker sick leave. 

Think about all these votes and realize . . .

DECENT DEMOCRATIC PARTY CANDIDATES COULD EASILY KEEP THE 5TH & TAKE BACK THE 4TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT!!! 

Actually . . .

This could be the single-greatest opportunity that Missouri Republicans could give Democratic Party leaders to rebrand, get serious about REAL issues like healthcare & schools and gain ground in Congress.  

Admittedly, this is a hopeful take that requires real, hard-working campaigns and better strategy than pushing tired old party-insiders and running social media roller derby adverts.

THERE ISN'T ANY OPPORTUNITY THAT MISSOURI DEMOCRATS CAN'T WASTE, RUIN AND USE TO TURN AWAY MORE VOTERS!!!

For instance . . .

Kansas City is currently represented in the Missouri House by a very lovely dude who identifies as a "pansexual rockstar" and wears lovely pantsuits, heals & pearls to Jeff City meetings.  

And so . . . 

Maybe our progressive friends are right to be worried about redistricting.
