KC Mayor Q Campaign For Congress Cont'd Via Len Dawson Legacy

This post might be too much #TBT but we couldn't let it slide . . .

A nicer place to start .  ..

It never hurts to remember a local legend . . . So that we don't forget . . .

Len Dawson was an NFL Hall of Fame quarterback best known for his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, whom he led to a victory in Super Bowl IV. His long and successful career in professional football earned him the nickname "Lenny the Cool" . . . And he continued legacy with an impressive career in broadcasting at both the national & local level

And now . . .

In the midst of controversial Missouri redistricting and constant protest by local progressives, this week Mayor Q summons the legend of beloved local hero Len Dawson in order to start the next phase of his political journey.

From just about every vantage . . .

This is just as small but important glimpse at how politics afflicts every aspect of local life and Kansas City political power seeks to define the lives of residents, not the other way around.

Or maybe we're just reading too much into it . . .

Here's the seemingly fun bit of foreshadowing . . .

"Working on the year's high school football and other fall activities schedule for stops by in Kansas City and the surrounds . . . My model is Len Dawson's old Channel 9 "High School Football Patrol," but I don't have a helicopter."
