Probably not . . .
The idea to build something fast downtown is interesting but unlikely . . . And is there any reason why we can't build a new temp jail faster on the nice Northland side of the bridge?!?
In fact, as a quick break from his State Senate campaign . . . We only wonder if the Northland council dude would like to suggest an even more convenient location for a new jail inside his district?!?
Either way . . . Here's a glimpse at the quote and more info on the cont'd crisis that might now reach a tipping point . . . Check-it:
"City councilman Nathan Willett said they have access to about 140 beds between those two counties for inmates. He said this means they can deny certain individuals.
"Willett said adding a temporary jail would add in total, about 100 additional spaces by April 2026. It would be located a city-owned tow lot along Front Street."

Temporary jail ordinance to be discussed at upcoming city council meeting
The city currently does not own a jail, it uses other jails to detain criminals, and it contracts out with Vernon and Johnson counties.
