Once again Mayor Q sets himself up for another legal FAIL and even worse . . . Kansas City earns yet another glimpse that his priorities are out of line with MOST residents.
A question . . .
DOES ANYONE THINK MORE CORPORATE AI TRAFFIC TICKETS WILL HELP SOLVE KANSAS CITY CRIME???
Didn't think so.
Moreover . . .
MAYOR Q ARGUING FOR TRAFFIC TICKETS AS PUBLIC SAFETY DEMONSTRATES THAT HE'S NOT SERIOUS ABOUT FIGHTING VIOLENT CRIME!!!
Again . . .
We only hope that others step up to smack down this bad policy and rebuke everyone who voted for it.
In the meantime, here's Mayor Q echoing the company line . . . Check-it:
Kansas City officials approved and authorized the use of automated traffic enforcement cameras last year, with plans to have them installed by early 2026.
The move marks the return of a program that was discontinued in 2015 after a Missouri Supreme Court ruling found that police could not legally issue tickets unless they could clearly identify the driver’s face.
But this time, Mayor Quinton Lucas says the technology has advanced—and that changes everything.
"It is something that going to happen in Kansas City, it's something that you're seeing in more jurisdictions, and I think it's one part of the future of Law Enforcement," Lucas said.
The city says today's camera systems are more advanced and capable of capturing clear images of drivers.
