Kansas City Hits Homicide #120 After Deadly Morning Crime Scene

The local quotient of killing continues to spike over last year . . . Here's info that police are sharing with media along with more TV news reporting . . . 

Homicide 1600 block of Drury 

This evening around 1:45AM, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Drury Ave. on a reported shooting.

Officers responded to the area and were flagged down by people on scene stating someone was shot. Officers located an adult male victim lying in a grassy area near the intersection unresponsive and suffering from unknown bodily trauma. They immediately began rendering medical aid until EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements. Detectives are working to determine what lead up to the incident occurring. This is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.

A subject of interest has not been identified at this time and no one is in custody.
