Kansas City Gunfire Victim Dies One Week After Mass Shooting

This morning KCPD notes that the homicide count stands at 117 which is the 2nd highest in the past 5 years and still outpaces 2024 numbers.

"On Sept. 3, police responded to the area of 34th and Harrison just before 9 p.m. on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered three shooting victims outside of an apartment building.

"One man had critical injuries; another man had serious injuries, and a woman had non-life-threatening injuries.

"Officers soon located another man who was seriously injured in a parking lot at 34th and Troost.

"A fifth victim also arrived at the hospital with serious injuries.

"The man who was critically hurt died in the hospital a week later. The other four victims are expected to survive."
