Kansas City Gaining Confidence In Keeping Chiefs & Royals?!?

Tonight's update on a seemingly endless conversation . . .

Read betwixt the lines . . . Despite the protestations of panicky sports talkers desperate for ratings . . . We notice politicos addressing the economic border war betwixt Missouri & Kansas with a bit more confidence.

Here's a couple of quotes worth considering . . .

"I think the Chiefs are definitely interested in making sure that, along with the state's package that we did in a special session in early June, that Jackson County comes through with the piece that will be needed on their end," Kehoe said.

Kehoe has hinted that a decision on the stadium could come in the next couple of months, although the team has not announced a formal timeline.

About the baseball home team despite a busted playoff run . . .

"I'm not concerned that we're going to lose the Chiefs and Royals," Governor Kehoe said. "I'm concerned about the jobs the Chiefs and Royals present to Missourians, and that's important for us to keep.

"I'm more concerned about those people who work for those organizations and for the ripple effect they have for both those organizations. We need to make sure those businesses, as I've been saying forever, stay on this side of the river in the state of Missouri."

Kehoe said he has confidence that the Royals will find a new home in his state.
