Kansas House Speaker Pro Tem Blake Carpenter claims to have found "hundreds of millions of dollars in questionable spending" but has not provided specific details.

Carpenter's office stated the flagged spending will be investigated by the appropriations committee during future budget hearings.

Last year, Kansas mandated 1.5% spending cuts across 24 state agencies, totaling a $7.7 million reduction.
