Jackson County Legislator Manny Abarca Confronts Double Controversy

Actually . . . TKC thinks both of these stories are garbage and we're only posting because we don't want to be accused of Latino favoritism . . . Also . . . Informed local voters should probably acknowledge both.

First up . . . 

This one is clearly courthouse politicking but still deserves acknowledgment and a link beyond the newspaper paywall . . .

Reality check . . . There's not much there besides an angry letter.  

Update . . . Here's the response on X from Manny Abarca . . . 

"In the desperation of Frank White/Caleb Clifford they will do anything to save themselves, and their most allegiant staff." 

And then . . . This one actually earned more readership and questions to TKC . . . 

Over the weekend Legislator Abarca shared this comment that UNWISELY offered perspective on divorce drama . . .  

"It has been days since i have been given access to my kids. From bed time stories, to morning wake up routine, to dropping them off in the morning (sometimes our favorite doughnut spot along the way), and then likely picking them up and shuffling to and from whatever after school activities-this is a hard transition that I didn’t ask for. 

"Doesn’t matter how many times I call, no one seems to hear their iPad ring." 

Imagine a system where both parents have equal rights, access and travel abilities. There’s always an excuse, why not. But there is no more love in the world than I have for my kids. I would do anything in the world to protect them, stand up for them and fight for them. And it seems fighting is what I am going to have to do . . . 

"But hey, there’s always more to the story, right . . . 

Unfortunately . . . 

In fact, there was more to the story but first we want to share some free advice . . . 

NOBODY SHOULD EVER SHARE DIVORCE DEETS ON SOCIAL MEDIA!!!

Seriously, unless you're married to Elon Musk and documenting an EPIC beat down for a future billion dollar payout . .  Don't do it. You'll only make things worse and invariably words will be twisted and/or misunderstood or unfairly contested. 

Accordingly, this reply disappeared but not before more than a few people screen capped it sent it our way. This seems to be a a response from the other side of the argument . . . 

"Sad that you are trying to paint yourself as the victim. Your world is caving in on you and you are turning to desperate measures. I am disappointed that I let myself get suckered into it." 

Posted only out fairness BUT we don't really want to get into the drama because there are youngsters involved and this whole "deal" should only serve as a www.TonysKansasCity.com teachable moment regarding the futility of online beef and political strategies at the low end.
